Description	:	Dorothy A. Dumbauld, 88, of Tama, died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Miller's Merry Manor in Hobart, Indiana. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Thomas Braak as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in rural Clutier, IA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28 from 5 7 PM at the Funeral Home in Tama with a vigil service at 7 PM. Dorothy was born on June 27, 1925, in rural Toledo, the daughter of Frank E. and Anna (Nekola) Dostal. After attending Cedar Rapids Business College she was employed in the Tama Clinic for 16 years. She also worked at St. Patrick's Catholic school preparing and planning the school lunches. On September 2, 1947 she was married to James L. Dumbauld at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clutier. They lived in Toledo before moving to Tama in 1957. James was employed by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad and Dorothy was involved in Volunteer activities. She served as Cub Scout den mother, a past president of St. Elizabeth Circle, president of the C.C.W., an officer in the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She was a 10 year volunteer at the Dept. of Human Services receiving the Governor's Volunteer Award in 1987 from Governor Terry E. Branstad. She was also a member of the Care Review Board at Grandview Acres, Toledo. (Now Carrington Place) She worked as a news correspondent for the Marshalltown Times Republican, Traer Star Clipper and KGAN TV news reporting election results. Her favorite activities included reading, sewing, gardening, flower arranging and traveling. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband of 63 years, James; her parents and three brothers, Leo, Edward and Albin; and one great grandchild. She is survived by five children, Steven (Vicki) Dumbauld, Bettendorf, IA, Timothy Dumbauld, Smyrna, GA, Terrence (Beth) Dumbauld, Matteson, IL, Michael (Ann) Dumbauld, Hobart, IN and Ann (James) Lauer, Morton, IL; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Randall of Springville, IA and a sister-in-law, Elaine McKernan, Hartwell, GA. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, 1035 N. Center Point Rd. Suite B, Hiawatha, IA 52233.
