Description	:	Dorothy Ann Kerr, 79, of rural Wapello died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Select Hospital in Davenport. Born April 24, 1932, in Mediapolis, she was the daughter of Martin and Ruth Lane McElhinney. On Nov. 26, 1952, she married Robert "Pete" Kerr in Newport. Mrs. Kerr was a homemaker and worked at several area restaurants. She graduated from Morning Sun High School. She was a member of Morning Sun United Methodist Church. She enjoyed time with family, cooking, decorating cakes, making cinnamon rolls, mowing their acreage and working outside. Survivors include her husband; one son, Jeff... Survivors include her husband; one son, Jeff Kerr of Mediapolis; one daughter, Vickie Durr of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Celia Murphy of Burlington, Gladys Parish of Wapello, Pauline Metzger of Morning Sun and Verla Bigger of Media, Ill.; two brothers, Bill McElhinney of Morning Sun and Hubert McElhinney of Crawfordsville; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters, one in infancy. No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated. Friends and family will gather from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at Mediapolis Fire Station, with a time for sharing memories at 2 p.m. A memorial has been established for friends of 4-H. Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello is in charge of arrangements.
