Services are Friday morning at 10:30 at St. Stephen church (sic). ================= Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, October 28, 1993; pg. 1 Funeral services for Dorothy (Dora) Hoelting were held Friday, October 15, 1993 at St. Stephen Church with Rev. Thomas Au officiating. For the service, music was provided by Kathy Krebsbach and Sheryl Buescher. Servers were four great grandsons: Jon Krebsbach, Jared Buescher and Ross and Tom Buescher. Walter Buescher was acolyte and James Krebsbach was Lector. Serving as pallbearers for their grandmother were Tom Krebsbach, Kevin Choquette, Michael Buescher, Lynn Hoelting, Larry Hoelting, Jerry Hoelting, William Hoelting and Charles Hoelting. Burial was in the St. Stephen cemetery (sic). Dorothy was born February 25, 1896 at Lawrence to Christopher and Sophie (Stritt) Ostdiek, and grew to an adult on the family farm in the St. Stephen community. She married William Hoelting on November 3, 1915 and to this union 13 children were born. Dora spent her life raising her family and also helping sisters and brothers and neighbors in any she could. Her work was done with a smile and a sense of humor. She was a very loving, caring person, always a pleasant person to be with. For a pasttime (sic), she enjoyed company, needlework and playing cards. Dora was a life long member of St. Stephen church (sic), the Altar Society and as a member of the Lawrence Legion Auxiliary. She was a Gold Star Mother. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill; an infant son and sons Vernon and Arthur; sisters: Kathryn Brockman and Leona Schroer; brothers: Ferdinand, Alphonse, Hubert and Clarence Ostdiek. She is survived by seven sons: Dan of Minden, LeRoy of Hastings, Francis of Doniphan, Richard of Lawrence, Leonard of Oxford, Victor of Bellevue and Eldon of Kearney; and three daughters: Eva Krebsbach of Hastings, Eileen Buescher of Lawrence and Marie Choquette of Upland; one sister: Hilda Rempe of Superior, two brothers: Lawrence and Ernest Ostdiek of Lawrence; 38 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
