Kennel and Elizabeth Ernst Kennel on June 28, 1924, at Beaver Crossing, and passed away February 23, 1985, at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 60 years, 7 months and 23 days. She was the youngest of ten children in her family. Dorothy grew up at Beaver Crossing and Cordova, living there until she was 19 years old, when she went to California. Kennel and Elizabeth Ernst Kennel on June 28, 1924, at Beaver Crossing, and passed away February 23, 1985, at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 60 years, 7 months and 23 days. She was the youngest of ten children in her family. Dorothy grew up at Beaver Crossing and Cordova, living there until she was 19 years old, when she went to California. She returned from California and married Raymond Stranske in June of 1946 in Lincoln. A son, Gary was born in Geneva while the couple resided in Friend in 1949. In 1953, they moved to Lincoln. A son, Jimmy was born in 1954 and a daughter, Denise was born in 1955. From 1963 to 1973, they lived in Giltner, and then moved to Geneva to operate the West Side Restaurant until 1979. Since then they managed the Rainbow Motel in Hastings. Preceding her in death were her father and mother, a sister, Thelma; two brothers, Lavern Kennel and Harold Kennel; and a grandson, Adam Stranske. She is survived by her husband; sons, Gary of Scottsbluff, and Jimmy of Pleasant Dale; a daughter, Mrs. Denise Janssen of Geneva; a brother, Ervin Kennel of Fairfax, Mo.; five sisters, Mrs. Iva Craig of Etewanda, Cal., Mrs. Birdean Dygert of Blue Hill, Mrs. Alletta Ondracek of Friend, Mrs. Marguerite Doremus of Geneva, and Kathleen Green of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Lisa and Christie Stranske, Heather Janssen, Patrick Stranske; and 39 nieces and nephew.
