The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 27 Dec 2000 Dorothy McKinlay Kueffler Dorothy McKinlay Kueffler, 93, died at Benefis East Campus on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000 of natural causes. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 29, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Benton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery. Dorothy was born Aug. 16, 1907 in Maynard, Iowa, to William and Hattie Barnes Hart. Her family moved west to Buffalo, Mont., in 1910, where she was raised on a ranch. She attended school in Buffalo graduating from high school there. She worked at the Buffalo Post Office after graduating and then attended college at Montana Normal College in Dillon. She married Lloyd McKinlay on Nov. 22, 1927 and then moved to the Carter area to farm. Lloyd passed away in 1969, and in 1972 she married Joe Kueffler. Dorothy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years, the Carter Neighborhood Club for 68 years, an avid bowler and a past member of the Rebekah lodge at Straw, Mont., and an election judge for 50+ years. She lived for her family and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is survived by two sons, Harold McKinlay of Buffalo and Orville McKinlay of Carter; 7 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, sister Esther Shrewsbury Foster, and a brother.
