Dorothy Marie Beck was born October 26, 1912 in Nodaway to Timothy Fredrick and Freda Bertha Hedinger Northup and died October 25, 2002 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. She spent all her life around Nodaway and Villisca area. She was united in marriage to George Lawrence Beck on October 8, 1933 in Nodaway, Iowa. The couple enjoyed farming together until his death on July 9, 1967. She was the secretary for Community Gas from 1968 until she retired in 1980. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Villisca and volunteered at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center, doing hair or helping with crafts, she was willing to help wherever needed. Her hobbies were crocheting, knitting, and reading. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and a sister, Helen Hall. Survivors included her son, Gene Beck of Kansas City, Missouri, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. And sister Wilma Marcusson of Visalia, California.
