Description	:	HEART ATTACK FATAL FOR NODAWAY AREA FARMER Funeral services for George Lawrence Beck, 58, prominent Nodaway area farmer, were held Wednesday July 12th at 2:30 p.m. from the Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Nadim Salkaly offering. Pall bearers included Paul Kernen Ralph Neill, Jim Timmerman, Elvin Nash, Walter Frey, and Dale King. Flower bearers were Nice Kernen, Maxine Frey, and Anabel Fryer. Music was by Mabel Dunn in the following selections, “Beyond The Sunset” and “Prayer Perfect.” The users were Paul Fisher and Quincy Dunn. George Lawrence Beck was born May 16, 1909 to George and Bertha Kurtz Beck on a farm Northeast of Corning. Lawrence was married to Dorothy Northup of Nodaway on October 8, 1933. Mr. and Mrs. Beck have one son , Gene Frederick. The Becks lived most of their married life in the Nodaway area on a farm south of Nodaway. Mr. beck died suddenly in his home Sunday eying following a severe heart attack. Lawrence was member of the Presbyterian Church here in Villisca, a member of the Nodaway Masonic Lodge, and served as Masonic Instructor and District Lecturer. A member of the Gem and Mineral Club, a member of the Carefree Campers Club. Lawrence led a active and happy life. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, their son, Gene and wife Carol, his mother-in-law, Mrs. Freda Northup, his two brothers, Ivan of El Monte, California and David of Littleton, Colorado, 3 nieces and one nephew and other relatives and many friends.
