Description	:	Stratford Courier March 20, 1924 Dayton Lady Passes Away Dorothy Matilda Gustafson was born in Dayton township, southeast of town, May 25, 1862, and passed away at her home on the old place where she was born, March 3, 1924, aged 61 years, 9 months and 8 days. Nearly all her life was spent on the old home place, where she grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage to Henry N. Lincoln, January 1, 1885. Read More	Stratford Courier March 20, 1924 Dayton Lady Passes Away Dorothy Matilda Gustafson was born in Dayton township, southeast of town, May 25, 1862, and passed away at her home on the old place where she was born, March 3, 1924, aged 61 years, 9 months and 8 days. Nearly all her life was spent on the old home place, where she grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage to Henry N. Lincoln, January 1, 1885. They lived for a short time at Des Moines, and came back to this community, where they have since lived. She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons and a daughter, H.B. Lincoln, Wichita, Kansas, V.E. Lincoln, Duluth, Minnesota; Robert A. Lincoln, at home, and Mrs. A.W. Lander, Stratford. She is also mourned by six grandchildren, a brother, J.A. Gustafson of this place, a sister, Mrs. A.W. Carlson, of Des Moines, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church in childhood and has always lived a consistent Christian life. She was a loving wife and mother, a good neighbor, and a steadfast friend, loved and respected by all who knew her. Her funeral was held last Friday afternoon from the M.E. church, Rev. Atkinson, the pastor, conducting the services, and her remains were laid to their final rest in Dayton cemetery. As one of the pioneer girls of this region, she did her share in its development, and lived to see in its fullness the fruition of the privations and labors of her family and her neighbors whose sacrifices and hardships were willingly given for its growth and prosperity. A host of lifelong friends deeply sympathize with the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow. — Dayton Review
