Description	:	Dorothy Ruth Wensel, 93, of Burbank, South Dakota passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Sanford Vermillion Care Center in Vermillion. Dorothy was born on July 8, 1922 in Union County, South Dakota, the daughter of Michael and Julia (Stefani) Clifford. She spent her childhood in Union County and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1940. After graduation, she went to beautician school and worked at a beauty shop. Dorothy was born on July 8, 1922 in Union County, South Dakota, the daughter of Michael and Julia (Stefani) Clifford. She spent her childhood in Union County and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1940. After graduation, she went to beautician school and worked at a beauty shop. In later years, she worked as a cashier at the drugstore. She and her sister cooked for Phi Delta fraternity in Vermillion. She married Floyd E. Wensel on November 15, 1944 in Vermillion. They were blessed with three children, Carolyn, Joyce, and Michael. They raised their children on the farm in Burbank area. Floyd preceded her in death on July 2, 1992. She was a life-long member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion. In her spare time, she loved playing BINGO, fishing, playing cards and listening to her favorite baseball team, Minnesota Twins on radio. She was a great cook and above all that, she loved her family dearly. She is survived by her three children, Carolyn (Bob) Wolf of Sioux City, IA, Joyce (Denny) Kayl and Michael (Linda) Wensel all of Burbank, SD; her seven grandchildren, Kim, Chad, Brian, Meghan, Matt, Angie, and Dan; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Floyd, her parents, her granddaughter, Terra, four sisters, three brothers, and a special niece, Sheryl. [Courtesy: Kober Funeral Home]
