Description	:	Dorothy was born March 10, 1911 in Deepwater, Missouri, to Willis and Mary (Boots) Winn. She married Cletus Guenther on September 28, 1929, in Washburn, ND. They lived in and around Coleharbor until Cletus retired. They then moved to Elk River MN, to live with their son, Ron. Dorothy remained in Elk River for many years before moving to Monticello, MN. Dorothy was a very compassionate person. She was an adoptive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her children's friends and even great-grandchildren's friends. Read More	Dorothy was born March 10, 1911 in Deepwater, Missouri, to Willis and Mary (Boots) Winn. She married Cletus Guenther on September 28, 1929, in Washburn, ND. They lived in and around Coleharbor until Cletus retired. They then moved to Elk River MN, to live with their son, Ron. Dorothy remained in Elk River for many years before moving to Monticello, MN. Dorothy was a very compassionate person. She was an adoptive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her children's friends and even great-grandchildren's friends. She never forgot someone's birthday and wrote letters to friends and relatives across the country. When her sons were in the service, her letters were shared with other service men and enjoyed by all. The men would look forward to hearing about the stories she had to tell. She had a knack for writing letters that few could equal. Everyone that she corresponded with filled her mailbox and continued to write long after she was unable to write herself. She looked forward to those letters. The whole family was able to stay close even though we were miles away. She gave a lot to this world and she will be missed. We imagine , she is strolling the streets of gold with Cletus and all the others and hopefully writing letters once again. Dorothy is survived by three sons and two daughter-in-law, Vernett and Mary Ellen Guenther, Bloomington, MN; Ron Guenther, Elk River, MN; and Dean and Glenda Guenther, Coleharbor, ND. Two daughters and son in-law, Judi and Larry Pratt, Monticello, MN; Linda and Vernon Halvorson, New Hope, MN; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Barbara Hellem, grandson David Hellem and great-grandson, Nicholas Greenizer.
