Roth was in charge of the last rites and burial was in the family plot at the Pilger cemetery. Music was furnished by anthems being sung by Mrs. William Jacobs with Mrs. John Goeller, J r. at the organ. Mrs. Dorothea Stuthman, formerly Dorothea Koehlmoos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koehlmoos, Sr. was born in McCook County, Illinois, on May 10, 1883 and died at a Nursing Home in Norfolk on Monday evening, Oct. 27, 1969, having attained an age of 86 years, 5 months and 17 days. Mrs. Stuthman was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and adhered to the profession of this church throughout her life, being a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pilger, and of the Ladies Aid and LWML until failing health overtook her and was an honorary member a! the time of her passing. Mrs. Stuthman in early infancy came with her parents to Stanton County. Here she was educated and grew to womanhood. Most of her life was spent in the vicinity of Pilger. On Feb. 14, 1902 she was married to Henry Stuthman of Pilger, the ceremony being performed in Trinity Lutheran Church of Altona. This union was blessed with 10 children. After their marriage they lived on farms north of Pilger, which had been their home until 1946 when they retired and moved to Pilger. She lived there until January 1968 when failing health necessitated her being taken to Norfolk for medical care. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary in February of 1952. Her, husband preceded her in death: in June 26,1960. Among those mourning her death are her 10 children; five daughters; Mrs. Elsie Tietgen of Wisner; Olga (Mrs. Arthur Dreyer) and Mrs. Clara Stunkel both of Norfolk; Alma (Mrs. Clarence Stradley) and Leona (Mrs. Ivil Nelson) both of Wayne; five sons, Carl and Henry Jr. both of Pilger; Ernest of Norfolk; Albert of West Point and Arnold of Wisner; one sister, Mrs. Louise Gemelke of Stanton; one brother Henry Koehlmoos of Stanton; 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren besides a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
