He was born October 3, 1921 in Wayne County, Ohio, a son of the late Denver Sutton Pickenpaugh and Edith Giffen Pickenpaugh. Doug was a retired machinist from Consolidation Coal Company's Franklin Mine, a lifelong member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hornberger; brothers, Robert, William, Kelly, and Keith Pickenpaugh. Surviving are his loving wife... Surviving are his loving wife of 72 years, Betty June Brown Pickenpaugh; two daughters, Nancy Clark of Martins Ferry, and Elizabeth Hurwitz of San Diego, CA.; three sons, Richard (Sherry) Pickenpaugh of Powhatan, VA., Thomas Edward Pickenpaugh of Rockville, MD., and Jeffery Pickenpaugh of Woodsfield; a brother, Denver "John" Pickenpaugh of Belmont; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Trixie. Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday [March 7, 2012] from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday [March 8, 2012] at 11 a.m. with Rev.
