She was the daughter of Rev. James H. Lightbourn (Methodist Episcopal) & Elizabeth Willis. Family names of Willis & Chamberlain, resided in Oxford Neck, Maryland where Lizzie was born. Married on 2-15-1896 to Rufus Nutting Chamberlain (d. 2-1931), son of Charlotte Birge & Dr. Jacob Chamberlain. Ch: Marie Louise Bruere, b. 12-9-1896, Belleville, NJ and Jacob, b. 6-28-1900, Depew, NY 7. Ann Taylor, b. 10-1867; never married. 8. Holmes Earl, b. 9-13-1869, d. 8-31-1939. Graduated from Rutgers College, Class of 1892. Married 11-12-1902 to Matilda Green (b. 4-16-1877, dau of Louise Augustine Scudder and Wm. Edgar Green, Scudder's Falls, NJ). 9. Julia Denise, b. 11-22-1870. Married John Curtis Clark Kelley (son of Emmalena Clark & George D. Kelley of Middletown, Delaware). John Kelley d. 3-21-1902. Dr. Abel's ancestors: * Parents: Charles Meirs Bruere (5-5-1832 to 5-1914) married Mary Louise Taylor, 2-15-1855, dau of May Weber & Abel R. Taylor. She was b. 2-3-1833 in NYC, d. 9-18-1895. * G-Parents: Unity Meirs (b. b. 1-9-1809 of Nancy Burtis & Apollo Meirs) & John Bruere (b. 2-22-1802, d. 1-9-1809). Married 11-17-1825. Had 8 children. She died 8-3-1847. He then married Ann Fowler on 6-12-1851. They had 2 children, Unity Meirs & Jerome Bruere. * GG-P: Mary Holmes & John Horsful (1778-1840). John also married Elizbeth Blackwell and Ann Scoby (f. Timothy Scoby). * GGG-P: Sarah Horsful (1752-1822) & Capt. James Bruere (2-9-1751 to 7-2-1807), m. 1773; 8 children (Mary, Peter, John H., Price, James, Ruth, Richard, & Jonathon). * GGGG-P: Eleanor Price (d. 1784) & Pierre (b. 8-10-1697); had 3 children Mary, Suzaanne, and Capt. James. Pierre Bruyere immigrated to Allentown, NJ in 1710 with his mother. * GGGGG-P: Susanne Tibaud and Pierre Bruyere married in France about 1695. Ch: Jean, Jeanne, Jacques, Pierre, and Susanne. Pierre's brother was Jacques who married Louise Douslot on 6-29-1690 at Chevre, Champagne, France.
