Description	:	The sad news of the death of Dr. A. L. Sukeforth, who died at his home in Coopers Mills Me, Tuesday, March 12, 1912 came as a great shock to his neighbors, friends and fellow-townsman who knew him best. Dr. Arthur Sukeforth was the son of Thalburt and Mary (Hatch) Sukeforth. His father died when the son was but a year old. Later his mother went to Comptche, Cal. Sukeforth, who died at his home in Coopers Mills Me, Tuesday, March 12, 1912 came as a great shock to his neighbors, friends and fellow-townsman who knew him best. Dr. Arthur Sukeforth was the son of Thalburt and Mary (Hatch) Sukeforth. His father died when the son was but a year old. Later his mother went to Comptche, Cal. He graduated from Mendocino City High School and then returned to New England where he graduated from Latin School in Boston in 1886. He then graduated with high honors from Maine Medical School at Brunswick in 1890. He went in practice at North Whitefield, forming a partnership with the late Dr. A.R.G. Smith. Several years later he went in practice for himself at Coopers Mills, where he was up to the time of his death. As a physician and surgeon Dr. Sukeforth ranked among the leading doctors of the State. He had an immense practice and his perseverance helped him to meet with unusual success. He was a man who was possessed of wonderful judgment, therefore his patients placed great confidence in him. In Politics he was a staunch Republican. He also had great knowledge of business and had held several town offices. He was always much interested in education and school affairs. His personality endeared him to all, his integrity and great ability commanded the respect and admiration of all who knew him. He will be kindly remembered and his early death is sincerely and deeply lamented. He leaves a widow, the daughter of his late partner, and four children, Mildred, Marguerite, Harold and Harvey, of Coopers Mills; and a mother, Mrs. Mary Hoak of Chico, Cal.
