Description	:	Dr. B.T. Swecker, a country doctor at Blue Grass for nearly a half-century, died at his home Friday. He was 71. Dr. Swecker was reportedly the youngest person ever to graduate from the Medical College of Richmond. He was born September 15, 1895 at Blue Grass and was a son of the late Eldridge D. and Almeda Colaw Swecker. Dr. Swecker was a director and vice-president of the Blue Grass Valley Bank and a director of First and Citizens Bank in Monterey. He belonged to the Crabbottom Presbyterian Church, was a Mason, and was a charter member of the Blue Grass Ruritans. He also farmed. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Hull Swecker; two sons, Dr. Ralph A. Swecker of Monterey and B.T. Swecker Jr. of Blue Grass; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Hogshead of Blue Grass; five grandchildren; one brother, Mr. Trussell F. Swecker of Blue Grass, and four sisters, Mrs. Leah Keckley of Cheswick, Pa., Mrs. Juanita Pennybacker of Silver Spring, Md., and Mrs. Rachel Fisher and Mrs. Patty Kiser, both of Blue Grass. The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Crabbottom Presbyterian Church by the Rev. T.B. Southhall, the Rev. A.E. Johnson, and the Rev. Glen Baker Jr. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. The body is at the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
