Description	:	DR. GORDON T. SIMONSON PROMINENT PHYSICIAN, DEAD Dr. Gordon T. Simonson, one of the most prominent physicians of Crisfield and for years Marine physician for the United States government at this port, died at his home on Main Street at an early hour last Saturday morning. Several weeks ago Dr. Simonson sustained a fractured limb, which later threatened him with blood- poisoning, and he underwent treatment at the Maryland University Hospital in Baltimore. GORDON T. SIMONSON PROMINENT PHYSICIAN, DEAD Dr. Gordon T. Simonson, one of the most prominent physicians of Crisfield and for years Marine physician for the United States government at this port, died at his home on Main Street at an early hour last Saturday morning. Several weeks ago Dr. Simonson sustained a fractured limb, which later threatened him with blood- poisoning, and he underwent treatment at the Maryland University Hospital in Baltimore. Returning to Crisfield about a month ago, heart affection developed and resulted in his death. Dr. Simonson was 44 years of age, and had been prominent in social, profession and business life in Crisfield for many years. He was appointed Marine physician at this port by President McKinley, and held that position until about two years ago. He was also a member of the medical staff of the Crisfield General & Marine Hospital, a member of Chesapeake Lodge No. 147, A. F. and A. M., a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics, and other fraternal organizations. The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John N. Simonson and his widow, Mrs. Clara M. Simonson, all of Crisfield. Funeral services were held from his late home on Main street on Monday afternoon, with Rev. C. A. Hill, pastor of Immanuel M. E. Church, and Rev. J. Vernon Ashworth, rector of St. John's church, officiating. Interment was in Asbury cemetery. The Masonic order, of which the deceased was a member, was in charge of the service and the body was laid to rest with Masonic honors.
