Allen, 73, widely known osteopath, died early this morning at her home at 620 Wall street. Dr. Allen had been ill for the past year. She was a native of California and had lived here for many years. She was proud of her state and was an ardent worker in the local parlor, Native Daughter of the Golden West. Read More	The Chico Enterprise, Thursday Evening, Jan 18, 1934: "Dr. Nellie Allen Called By Death. Dr. Nellie A. Allen, 73, widely known osteopath, died early this morning at her home at 620 Wall street. Dr. Allen had been ill for the past year. She was a native of California and had lived here for many years. She was proud of her state and was an ardent worker in the local parlor, Native Daughter of the Golden West. She was also a member of the Chico Soroptimist club and was known throughout the district for her charitable work and interest in the welfare of the community. "Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Edward Allen of Portland; Albert of Chico; Leslie of San Francisco; Pearl of Canada; Ray of San Francisco; Arden and Kenneth of Oakland; and Mrs. W.J. Bowman of Chico. "Funeral services will be in the chapel of the Westfall funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be by the side of her late mother in the Chico Cemetery." ~~~ 73-year-old Nellie Almira Allen was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on January 20, 1934.
