"Randy" Randall David Henry Randall and Becky had no children. ----- The following obituary appeared in "The Spokesman-Review" (Spokane, WA) on Wednesday, February 15, 1978, page 6, columns 2-5: Spokane eye doctor dies at 68 Dr. Randall W. Henry, 68, an eye specialist and a resident of Spokane for 30 years, died of cancer Tuesday in a Spokane hospital. Born in Endicott, Wash., Dr. Henry was a graduate of Endicott High School, Washington State University and the University of Oregon. After completing his internship, he practiced general medicine in Endicott seven years, occasionally taking leave for graduate work in surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. During World War II, he was commissioned in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He received five Battle Stars and a Bronze Star. In 1946, he resumed private practice in Colfax, Wash., for six months, before studying ophthalmology at the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif. Dr. Henry moved to Spokane in 1948, practicing as an eye specialist. A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, he was also a member of Pacific Coast Ophthalmology, Spokane County Medical Society, Washington State Medical Association and American Medical Association. He was also affiliated with Nu Sigma Nu, Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, Prosperity Club, Cougar Club, El Katif Temple, Scottish Rite and Inland Empire Consistory. A member of Manito Presbyterian Church, he was former president of Spokane Club. He was also the author of "Early Medical History of Spokane." Dr. Henry was married to Julia E. Hanson [sic] from 1933 until her death in 1961. He married Helen E. "Becky" McClure in 1964, the widow of John McClure, Jr. Survivors include his wife, at the home, S4223 Helena, four daughters, Mrs. James (Joanne) Nielson, Cody, Wyo.; Mrs. Gary (Barbara) Baugh, Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Bruce (Kathleen) Ellingsen, Spokane, and Mrs. John (Louise) Bryson, Sacramento, Calif., a son, Randall D. Henry, Klamath Falls, Ore., two stepdaughters, Mrs. Steven (Christine) Pruett, Tillamook, Ore., and Mrs. Scott (Nancy) Stevens, Seattle; a sister, Dr. Margaret Henry, San Francisco; three brothers, Dr. Robert Henry, Colfax; Dr. Dan Henry, Clarkston, Wash. and Byron T. Henry, Spokane; and 14 grandchildren. Funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Manito Presbyterian Church. Graveside services are planned at the Colfax cemetery at 2 p.m. Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials may be sent to a charity of medical research foundation of the donor's choice.
