Dumm-Taylor—Mrs. Agnes Dumm and Dr. Wilson Taylor, both of Hamlin, were married in St. Joseph Wednesday, April 29. Mrs. Dumm was the widow of Oliver Dumm, who died in Hiawatha about a year ago. Since that time she has been living in Hamlin with relatives. —The Hiawatha Daily World (Hiawatha, KS) Fri. May 1, 1914, p.1. DEATHS Taylor—Dr. William Taylor, retired physician, died Saturday, Dec. 16, at his home in Hamlin. He was 75 years old. He formerly practiced medicine there. Besides the widow, Dr. Taylor's survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Mary Berkley, 2 grand-children. Funeral arrangements have not been made. —The Hiawatha Daily World (Hiawatha, KS) Sat. Dec 16, 1922, p.1. Dec 21, 1922 p.2. OBITUARY Taylor—Wilson Taylor was born Nov. 13, 1847, at Perrysville, Ohio. He came to Kansas in 1870 where he taught school for a time, returning later to Ohio. He graduated from the Columbus, Ohio, Medical College in 1880. He practised medicine at Muscotah, Kans., later moving to Robinson, where he married Miss Anna Moore, of that place. One child was born of this union, Mrs. Ione Berkley, of near Hamlin. He then went to Western Kansas for the benefit of his wifes health. After a few years he returned to Brown county, settling at Hamlin, where he lived to the time of his death, Dec. 16, 1922. In 1911 his wife died. In 1914 he married Mrs. Agnes Dumm. Dr. Taylor was a member of the Abdallah Shrine of Leavenworth for a number of years, also a member of the Hiawatha Commandery No. 13, Knights Templar, Hamlin Masonic lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Knights and Ladies of Security. He was mayor of Hamlin 2 different terms, a member of school board. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Maurice Berkley, 2 grandchildren, Mrs. Chas. Thompson, of Morrill, Dale Berkley, 2 sisters, Mrs. Eva Bushey, of Muscotah, Mrs. Emma MacDonald, of Cleveland, O., and a host of friends, relatives. The funeral was held in the Baptist church of Hamlin of which he was a member. Rev. Claude Studebaker preached the sermon assisted by Rev. Roy Hillyer. The honorary body bearers were: G. W. Dowell, E. Blanchard, G. W. Scott, J. H. Berkley, G. F. Berkley, J. Blauvelt. The active body bearers were members of Masonic lodge of Hamlin. The Knights Templars took charge of services at the grave. —The Hiawatha Daily World (Hiawatha, KS) Thur. Dec 28, 1922, p.4.
