Description	:	Duane "Buck" Flower. 81, formerly of Nelson died Feb. 11, at Mesa, Ariz. He was born Aug. 19,1925, at Nelson, to Claude Andrew and Ocie (Cannon) Flower. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, a brother, Lawrence "Dutch" Flower, of Orange, Calif.; his daughter, Dixie Bargman, Gilbert, Ariz., a son, Greg Flower, Kansas City, Mo., granddaughters, Debora and Jessica, grandson, David, and three great-grandchildren. He was born Aug. 19,1925, at Nelson, to Claude Andrew and Ocie (Cannon) Flower. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, a brother, Lawrence "Dutch" Flower, of Orange, Calif.; his daughter, Dixie Bargman, Gilbert, Ariz., a son, Greg Flower, Kansas City, Mo., granddaughters, Debora and Jessica, grandson, David, and three great-grandchildren. He grew up in the Nelson community and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1943. He married Dolores Nelson. This union was blessed with the birth of two children. He worked at the Harvard Airbase during World War II and as a highway Patrolman at Ogallala. Most of his adult life he was a security officer of Martin-Marietta Aerospace in Denver, Colo. He retired from that company in 1982 and moved to Ogallala and then back to his boyhood home of Nelson. He lived there until failing health caused him to move to Mesa, Ariz., in April 2006. He was an avid reader, a loyal Husker fan and in his younger years enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Winston Flower. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Nelson United Community Church of Christ. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry will officiate. Burial will be in the Nelson Cemetery. Williams Funeral home of Superior, is in charge of arrangements. Superior Express May 24, 2007.
