Description	:	Duane W. Zeisler was born to William and Tillie (Miller) Zeisler February 18th, 1933 at Spencer, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church in Butte, Nebraska. He attended District 49 through the eighth grade and graduated from Butte High School in 1950. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served in Korea being Honorably Discharged in 1954. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church in Butte, Nebraska. He attended District 49 through the eighth grade and graduated from Butte High School in 1950. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served in Korea being Honorably Discharged in 1954. January 8th 1955 he married Joan Horst at White Lake South Dakota. They then began farming and ranching the original Zeisler Homestead, raising three children, Jane, Craig and James. Duane always stated, "I want to work until I can't." He enjoyed harvesting and moving cattle into the catch pen so he could look them over before they went to the working chute. He also looked for any excuse to bottle feed a calf or carry a bucket to feed something. He found great enjoyment in his grand kids and was very proud of their accomplishments. As the grand kids began to marry and Great Grand kids began to arrive he would always state, "How lucky can we get?" Duane also shared a unique greeting with a very special little friend that involved nothing more than the wave of a finger and not a word spoken. He served on several positions in the church and community. Duane died October 14th after a battle with cancer. Preceding him in death are his parents, William and Tillie, his sister, Leona, her husband Russell Loewe, Great Grandson Jacob Schmitz, father and mother-in-law, Fred and Elfride Horst, sister-in-laws, Judy Anderson, Lorna Thomas and brother-in-law Herbert Struss. Duane is survived by his wife Joan, a daughter, Jane and husband Rick Schmitz, sons, Craig and wife Stacy, Jim and wife Robin, six grandsons, two granddaughters and five great grandsons. Sister-in-laws Ardyce Struss, Shirley (Wayne) Keizer and brother-in-law Leonard Thomas, nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Naper. Burial will be in the Knollcrest Cemetery, Naper. There will be a prayer service on Thursday at 7:00 PM at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the church.
