Earl Basil Godsey was born in Osage county, November 20, 1895. He was educated in the Emporia city schools. the Kansas State Normal and the Agriculture College at Pullman, Wash. He was married to Rachel Ellis, of Fairmount, Ind. Following his marriage he farmed in Alberta until the time of his death. He is survived by Mrs. Godsey and two children, Ellis Basil , and Verna. His father, T.B. Godsey, and four sisters. Edith, Mabel, Alice and Grace, also survive. *********************** Emporia Gazette, Monday, 19 March 1923; p. 8, c. 2 Funeral of Earl Godsey.** Funeral services for Earl Godsey, son of T.B. Godsey, who died March 5 in Alberta, Canada, were held yesterday afternoon at the Maplewood cemetery. Rev. W.P. Wharton, pastor of the First Methodist church, assisted by the American Legion, conducted the services. The pallbearers were Ed Rees, Stanley Madison, Russell Brewer, James St. Clair, Max Harris, ad E.F. Oaks.
