Description	:	Earl was the son of George W. & Elizabeth Dee Blair. He married Delpha Marie Crain on August 5, 1922. Delpha was divorced from her first husband, Edward Harrison Bluejacket. News about when it would be opening was published in the Emporia Gazette on Dec. 23, 1935. "Hub Hotel To Reopen The Hub Hotel will re-open Thursday under the management of Leslie F. Wagner and C.W. Brown, partners. Earl Blair, a well-known Emporia chef, will have charge of the kitchen and will bake the pastries. The new room rate has been set at 50 and 75 cents per night. The proprietors are considering re-naming the hotel. C.H. Lambert handled the lease." More news followed on Jan. 4, 1936. "Hotel To Have Opening. The Hub hotel is holding a re-opening day, Sunday, featuring a special dinner. The new operators of the hotel, Leslie P. Wagner and E.W. Brown have redecorated the 26 rooms and refurnished most of them with new curtains and linens. Earl Blair, Emporia cook, is the Hub's chef. Mr. Blair, who will bake the pastries, has worked at the Mit-Way hotel, Cole's cafe and the Baltimore hotel. The Hub hotel will have nine employees, including the porter." Earl died in Emporia on June 26, 1969. His obituary was published in the Emporia Gazette on Friday, June 27, 1969. "Earl C. Blair Sr. Dies Earl C. Blair Sr., 102 South Rural St., a resident of Emporia since September, 1923, died Thursday morning in his home. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel. They will be conducted by the Rev. J. Joyce Wilson, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Blair was born Nov. 27th, 1887, in Somerset, Ky., the son of George W. and Elizabeth Dee Blair, and he was married to Delpha Crain on Aug. 5th, 1922, in Fort Scott. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles, and he is survived by his wife of the home; six sons, Chester, of Miami, Okla.; Earl C. Jr., of Rt. 5; Carl, of Anchorage, Alaska; Robert of Greensburg; Richard of Rt. 2, and Arthur of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Flora) Beaty, Seneca, Okla.; Mrs. Joe (Dorothy) Poupart, Law de Flambeau, Wis., and Mrs. Robert (Lorene) Blaine, Owasso, Okla., 31 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren." More news followed on Monday, June 30, 1969. "The Blair Funeral Funeral services for Earl C. Blair Sr., who died Thursday in his home, 102 South Rural St., were held Saturday afternoon in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel. They were conducted by the Rev. J. Joyce Wilson, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church. The soloist was Erwin Gile, the organist was Mrs. Robert Plummer and the pallbearers, all grandsons, were Richard Colvard, David, Ted C., Earl E., and Robert E. Blair Jr., and Charles Beaty. Members of the God Star Mothers club and the Elder Citizens Club attended in groups. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Out-of-town relatives who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Blair Sr., and children, Greensburg; Mr. and Mrs. Chester O. Blair and family, Miami, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blaine and Marilee, Owasso, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Blair and family and Richard Colvard, Tulsa, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Beaty, Seneca, Mo., and Robert Blair, Jr., Wichita."
