Description	:	Earl Strong, born April 16, 1914, was the son of William & Bertha (Korgan) Strong. He was the ninth of twelve children – Frank, Ethel, Clarence, Mabel, Alice, Edward, Elwood, Earl (himself), Marie, Amy and Richard. He grew up on a farm 4 miles east and one mile north of Trumbull, Nebraska where he attended high school and graduated with the class of 1930. Read More	Earl Strong, born April 16, 1914, was the son of William & Bertha (Korgan) Strong. He was the ninth of twelve children – Frank, Ethel, Clarence, Mabel, Alice, Edward, Elwood, Earl (himself), Marie, Amy and Richard. He grew up on a farm 4 miles east and one mile north of Trumbull, Nebraska where he attended high school and graduated with the class of 1930. He attended Kearney State College, received his chemical engineering degree from Georgia Tech, and his B.A. degree from Hastings College in 1949. He served his country in World War II, in the U.S. Army, from June 15, 1942 until his discharge March 12, 1945. On August 24, 1946, he was united in marriage to Irene Campbell near Giltner, NE. Earl was a faithful member of the Aurora First Christian Church, where he served as Elder, Board chairman, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School teacher. He organized the Nebraska Feed Grain Growers Association and served as its first president. After the war, Earl was a chemistry and math teacher at Aurora High School. In 1955 he was elected to serve two terms as Hamilton County Treasurer. Earl was a strong advocate for senior citizens. He was appointed as the first Administrator of the Hamilton Manor in Aurora, serving from 1965 until his retirement in 1978. He served as a Silver Haired Senator in the 1970s, pushing for rights for Senior Citizens in the State Legislature. He also served on the Area Agency on Aging for many years. Throughout his life, at heart Earl was always a farmer; he remained directly involved in decisions regarding the maintenance of the family farm, and spent hours gardening at home and at the Hamilton Manor. He loved to travel, taking the family on vacation trips each summer, eventually visiting nearly every state, and parts of Canada. Earl died in Aurora Nebraska on March 5, 1995.
