(Apr. 28) morning of stab wounds inflicted at the National Cleaners, 818 N.Kansas. She and her second cousin, Miss Alice Spellmeier, 57, were both found suffering from multiple knife wounds early Wed. at the cleaners. Both died after arrival at the hospital. Miss Lear was born July 28, 1947 at Sabetha. She had been a nurse's aide at the Presbyterian Manor here for the past two years. She had lived with Miss Spellmeier while staying in Topeka. She was graduated from Bern High School in May of 1965. She attended Highland Community Junior College, Highland, from 1965 to 1967. She then worked a year as an aide at a Newton nursing home. From there she moved to Topeka. Survivors includer har parents, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Lear; a brother, David Lear; and 2 sisters, Kathleen and Rosemary Lear, all of the home, and a stepmother, Mrs. Edwin Armstrong, Hiawatha. Burial will be in Bern Cemetery. Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary in Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
