Read More	E Wantz Died at Ames Last Week Former Resident of Clemons Neighborhood Dies at Home of His Daughter E Wantz, a retired farmer and former resident of the Clemons neighborhood, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.M. Howell at Ames, at 6:30 last Tuesday morning, Feb 2. He had been sick for seven weeks with cardiac asthma, this and complications causing his death. Mr Wantz was born in Alsace-Lorraine, France, in 1832 and came to this country when twelve years of age. He came to this state from Illinois in 1856 and his home ever since has been made in Iowa. He married Miss Mary Bryant July, 1862, she preceeding him in death on Sept. 19, 1904. Mr Wantz had made his home with his daughter, Mrs J.M. Howell for the last fifteen years. He was a member of the Methodist church since 1878. Three children survive Mr Wantz. They are R.E. Wantz of Clemons, Mrs Mabel Rehnblom and Mrs J.M.Howell of Ames. Two sisters also survive. They are Mrs Ezra Gee of Dodge Center, Minn., and Mrs Addie Miller of Aurora, Illinois. Mr Wantz was well known to the State Center people having been a frequent visitor here, where he had property interests. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Christian church in Clemons. Rev Bert S Bailey conducted the services. The pall bearers were E.E. Benson, J.L. McMahon, W.E. Watson, J.W. Tummel, F.B. Gilbert and George Sherman. The flowers were cared for by Mesdames Robert Bryant, Alva Kersey, William Camp and A.W. Monroe. Those from a distance who attended were William Bryant and Mrs Anna Triplett, Sutherland; Miss Sylvia Wantz, Des Moines; Mrs D.O. Bennett and daughter, June, Mr and Mrs R.E. Carr, Mr and Mrs Ames and George Taylor, Mr and Mrs James Taylor, Mr and Mrs George Orcutt and Delos Deal of Nevada. Burial was in the Clemons cemetery. February 11, 1926 State Center Enterprise.
