Services were held on Thursday, September 21, 1995, at the Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center, the Reverend John Den Hoed officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center. Services were held on Thursday, September 21, 1995, at the Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center, the Reverend John Den Hoed officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center. Mr. Harskamp was born July 14, 1908, in Barneveld, The Netherlands, the son of Jan and Alyda (Rozendaal) Harskamp. He married Tonia Maria Kersbergen on December 24, 1929, at Ireton, IA. Mr. Harskamp worked as a general contractor in the area for many years. After his retirement, he restored furniture and built and repaired clocks. Mr. Harskamp was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He was one of the original members of the board of directors of the Low Rent Housing Agency in Sioux Center, and served on the Planning and Zoning Committee in Sioux Center. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Alida and Roger Millikan of Spirit Lake and Darlene and Carl Millikan of rural Harris, IA; two sons and their wives, Ed and Jan of Sibley, IA, and Jim and Linda of Sioux Center; a brother, Jake of Sioux Center; a sister, Alyda Vande Vegte, also of Sioux Center; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Gilbert, Dick, Henry, Gerrit and Bert; five sisters, Effie Verwinder, Winnie Wallenburg, Minnie Van Ravenswaay, Hattie Vander Weide and Jennie Schelling; two grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.
