The son of John Henry and Lillie Belle McGhghy Johnson, he was born Jan. 15, 1899, in Appanoose County. A resident of Ottumwa since 1928, he was an employe of John Morrell & Co. for 31 years. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Orman of Floris and Mrs. Doris Phillips of Ottumwa; two sons, Wilbur Johnson and Edgar Johnson Jr., both of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; five brothers, Sylva Johnson of Hedrick, James Johnson of Newton, John Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis., Charley Johnson of Unionville and Vernie Johnson of Grinnell; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Peters of Davenport and Mrs. Velma Henshaw of Kellogg. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Erret Boyer will be in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Otis Ryals, Walter Hearnes, Arthur Replogle, Vernon Claussen, Kenneth Knott and Ray Mitchell.
