Mr. Degan was born July 18, 1918 in Salina and lived in Topeka since he was a year old. He was employed by the Frisco and the Santa Fe Railway companies for a number of years. In 1921 he became associated with the Sheahan Plumbing Co. as office manager. Later he became a member of the firm. W. F. Sheahan, his partner, died in 1951 while on a vacation trip in Mexico. In addition to operating the plumbing establishment, Mr. Degan was owner of the Triangle Industrial Sites Development at 21st and Kansas. He was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude M. Degan, of the home; a son, Edgar W. Degan, Topeka; two daughters, Susanne Degan of the home, Mrs. Frances Sunday, Lamar, Colo.; two brothers, George and John Degan, both of Chicago; 6 sisters, Sister Margaret Georgiana, Xaviar, Kan., Mrs. Margaret Pommier, Portland, Ore., Mrs. M.
