Ewing, 96, formerly of Route 518 and recently residing at the Goforth Boarding Home of 131 Pendleton St., died at the home Monday at 8:55 p.m. following a lengthy illness. She was born in Millport June 18, 1889, a daughter of Silas Charles McPherson and Elizabeth Ellen McQuoid McPherson, and lived in this area her lifetime. She was a member of New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church and the Women's Missionary Society of the church. Her husband, Roy Burbick Ewing, whom she married June 18, 1913, died March 22, 1976. She is survived by three sons, Robert E. Ewing of Tucson, Ariz., and John C. Ewing and James W. Ewing, both of Lisbon; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Hull and Miss Nellie (Nettie) McPherson, both of Lisbon; two brothers, Hugh McPherson of Salem, and William McPherson of Youngstown; 14 grand-children and 23 great-grandchildren, A daughter Mrs. John (Marjorie) Yaggi died in March, 1983. Services are to be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Eells Leggett Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred F. Hofer of the church will officiate. Burial will be at Lisbon Cemetery. Informal calling hours will be held Wednesday afternoon with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
