McPherson, 88, of 621 Harvard St., formerly of Lisbon, Ohio died at 4 a.m. Monday at Englewood Hospital following a brief illness. Born Feb. 5, 1905 in Millport, Ohio, he was the son of the late S. Charles and Elizabeth Ellen (McQuoid) McPherson. Mr. McPherson lived in Florida for the past four years, coming from Youngstown. He was employed with Commercial Searing of Youngstown, retiring in 1950, and later employed at Haber Furniture Company of Youngstown for 38 years retiring in 1988. He was a World War II Army Veteran and served as a cook for 10 years, with the U.S. Merchant Marines. Survivors include his wife, Gratia Humphrey McPherson; and two sisters, Julia A. Hall and Nettie M. McPherson. He was proceeded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Merle and Hugh McPherson; and six sisters, Olive Patterson, Nellie Todd, Edith Ewing, Luella Scott, Mary Frantz and Elizabeth Williard. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Eells Leggett Funeral Home in Lisbon with the Rev. Timothy Wilt of the Salineville Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Florida.
