The Marion Sentinel Thursday June 22, 1905 Mrs. Gilbert, wife of Conductor George Gilbert, died at their home in Ottumwa last Thursday, June 15, after an illness of several months. The family were residents of Marion until about a year ago, when , with many others, they removed to Ottumwa, on account of the changes in the running of Kansas City division trains. Besides her husband and son she leaves a sister, Mrs. J.M. Ross, of this city; one brother at Mt. Vernon, one in Des Moines, and one in Washington D.C.. The remains were brought to Marion Friday, and the funeral was held in the Congregational church Saturday afternoon. Rev. A.D. Kinzer conducted the services and the music was furnished by a quartet consisting of Miss Mary Leonard, Miss Louise Gibson, Dr. J.J. Booth and A.L. Kinzer. The Rathbone Sisters attended in a body, besides many other sympathizing friends. There were many beautiful floral offerings, silent testimonies of love and esteem in which the deceased was held. CARD OF THANKS Geo. Gilbert and son and Mrs. John M. Ross take this method of expressing their thanks to friends who extended assistances and sympathy during their late bereavement.
