She attended country school and graduated from the Emerson high school. After attending college at Cedar Falls, she taught country school in Montgomery county for three years. Early in life, she professed lier faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Champion Hill Presbyterian church. She was always active in her church. Dec. 12, 1917. she was united in marriage to John V. Parker. To this union two sons were born, Hadley J. and William M. The family lived in the Champion Hill neighborhood for a number of years. After moving nearer Emerson, her church membership was changed to the Methodist church, in which she took an active part. For many years she has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Corena Birdsall and Miss Pearl E. McLain. Surviving are her husband, sons, six grandchildren, sisters, Mrs. Mabel Ungry of Red Oak. Mrs. Vera Gordy of Milton and Mrs. Velma Sawyers of Emerson: her brother. Roy W.
