EDITH BROWN EARLY RESIDENT TAKEN BY DEATH Was A Member of Pioneer Family In Pleasant Valley Mrs. Edith Brown, 79, an early settler in Pleasant Valley, died at the home of her son, Elmer Brown of Adaville, Sunday, at noon. Mrs. Brown suffered a stroke a week ago Friday and little hope was held for her recovery from the time she was stricken. Mrs. Brown was born near London, England, October 2, 1865. Her maiden name was Edith Bristow. She came to the United States when a child with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bristow, early settlers in this county. She was married to Charles Brown, a well known farmer and stockman for many years. He preceded her in death several years ago and a daughter, Mary, also preceded her in death. She is survived by five sons and two daughters; Grant Brown of Akron, Wesley Brown, Nelson Brown, Elmer Brown and Bertsel Brown of Merrill, Mrs. J.D. Tindall of LeMars and Mrs. Alice Bryant of Akron. Mrs. Brown was widely known and was highly esteemed in a large circle of friends and acquaintances. The funeral will be held at the United Brethren church in Adaville. Rev. L.B. Foster, pastor of the church, will conduct the services at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon and interment will be made in the family burial plot in the Adaville cemetery.
