Description	:	Mrs. Edith Irene Clugston, 72, a resident of the district for 67 years died at 7:15 o'clock last Friday night at her home two miles southwest of this city. She had been ill for the past seven years and seriously ill the last two days. She was born Oct. 1, 1876 in Sangamon County, Illinois, and came to Monmouth with her parents at the age of six. Read More	Mrs. Edith Irene Clugston, 72, a resident of the district for 67 years died at 7:15 o'clock last Friday night at her home two miles southwest of this city. She had been ill for the past seven years and seriously ill the last two days. She was born Oct. 1, 1876 in Sangamon County, Illinois, and came to Monmouth with her parents at the age of six. In 1910 she married J. Walter Clugston and she had lived at the farm on R.R. 1 since that time. Mr. Clugston died in 1946 and since then two daughters, Mrs Pauline Murray and Miss Gertrude Clugston, had been living with her. Mrs. Clugston was a member of the Cherokee Methodist church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors, other than the two daughters at the home are two step-daughters, Mrs. Ruth Werner, Waco, Texas, and Mrs. Jessie Galbraith of Pittsburg; two step-sons, Harold Clugston of McCune and Ward Clugston of Pittsburg; a sister, Mrs. Grace Hassell of Kansas City; two brothers, Webber Brown, northwest of Cherokee, and Ray Brown of Pomona, Calif; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. G. M. Pierce officiating. Burial was in the Cherokee cemetery with Brenner Mortuary in charge.
