Description	:	Edith Pauline Clugston Murray Bacon, 83, of Pittsburg, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at her home. She was born Oct. 17, 1919, at rural Cherokee, to James Walter and Edith Irene (Brown) Clugston. She attended school at Cherokee and graduated from Crawford Community High School at Cherokee in 1937. She was a lifelong farm resident of rural Cherokee. She and her husband farmed at rural Cherokee until retiring in 1990. They moved to Pittsburg in 1998. She was born Oct. 17, 1919, at rural Cherokee, to James Walter and Edith Irene (Brown) Clugston. She attended school at Cherokee and graduated from Crawford Community High School at Cherokee in 1937. She was a lifelong farm resident of rural Cherokee. She and her husband farmed at rural Cherokee until retiring in 1990. They moved to Pittsburg in 1998. On May 19, 1940, she married William "Bill" Lloyd Murray at Columbus. He preceded her in death March 6, 1952. She married Marvin Bacon on Dec. 6, 1953. He survives of the home. She was a member of Cherokee United Methodist Church. At the church, she served on many committees and was active in the United Methodist Women's Group. Additional survivors include three sons, James Murray, of Newark, Ohio, John Murray, of Egg Harbor City, N.J., and Steven Bacon, of Strafford, Mo.; three daughters, Carolyn Stieger, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Edith Scott and Frances Pyle, both of Pittsburg; one sister, Gertrude Twogood, of Pittsburg; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Clugston and Ward Clugston, and two sisters, Ruth Werner and Jessie Mae Galbraith Sheward. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cherokee United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Kallaus officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brenner Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. Fourth St., Pittsburg.
