Description	:	NORTH PLATTE - Edith L. Sukraw, 91, died Friday (Aug. 29, 2008) at Linden Court in North Platte. She was born Jan. 18, 1917, in Palisade, to Ray and Lilly (Troxel) Colson. She was raised near Hamlet, where she graduated in 1934 from Hamlet High School. She was united in marriage in 1946 to Ivan Matticks. He died in 1957. She then married Clyde Garrett in 1960. She was raised near Hamlet, where she graduated in 1934 from Hamlet High School. She was united in marriage in 1946 to Ivan Matticks. He died in 1957. She then married Clyde Garrett in 1960. They resided in Hayes Center until his death in 1985. In 1988 she married Albert Sukraw and lived in North Platte. Albert died in 2001. She lived in Hayes Center for 28 years where she was a rural mail carrier. She was a member of the Church of Christ since 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; Ivan Matticks, Clyde Garrett and Albert Sukraw; sisters, Rose Marie Hahn and Dorothy Carnahan; brothers, Bob Colson and 2 infant brothers; step-daughter, Patty Sailors; and a grandson; Jay Van Norman. Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Vedder of Bismark, N.D., Karen French and husband, Steve of Sutherland, and Peggy Van Norman and husband, Tom of Hesperia, Calif.; sons, Roger Matticks and wife, Theresa of North Platte, Ray Matticks and wife, Tammy of Wichita, Kan., John Garrett and wife, Pam of North Platte; step-daughter, Shirley Yonkers and husband, Darky of Maywood; step-son, Herb Sukraw and wife, Linda of North Platte; sisters; Ardith Ford of Springfield, Mo., and Darlene Kapastka of Broken Bow; a brother, Les Colson of California; 25 grandchildren and approximately 25 great grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Church of Christ on West Walker Road with Ned Cooper officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. at the Hamlet Cemetery in Hamlet. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday and from 1-5 p.m. on Monday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
