Description	:	HOGUE, EDITH M.—Edith M. Hogue was born to Caleb J. Madison and Jennie E. Faley Madison on December 27, 1896, at Geneva in Fillmore county, and passed away on July 31, 1980, at Bethesda Care Center, Exeter, at the age of 83 years, seven months and four days. She was one of three children in the family. She attended school through the eighth grade at District 2 east of Geneva. Hogue was born to Caleb J. Madison and Jennie E. Faley Madison on December 27, 1896, at Geneva in Fillmore county, and passed away on July 31, 1980, at Bethesda Care Center, Exeter, at the age of 83 years, seven months and four days. She was one of three children in the family. She attended school through the eighth grade at District 2 east of Geneva. After her marriage she and her husband homesteaded in Chugwater, Wyo., for about a year, coming back to Geneva where they lived until their passing. On December 31, 1919, she was married to Henry Earl Hogue of Tobias. To this union six children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in November, 1964; parents and one great-grandson, Christopher Thomas Kamler. She was a member of the Veterans of World War I auxiliary and the Sloan-Bolton 68 American Legion Auxiliary. Edith was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, who took great pride in her large family. She is survived by her brother, Fred Madison and sister-in-law Ester of Geneva; a sister, Mabel Jacobson and brother-in-law Hilmer of Julesburg, Col., sons, Roland and his wife Elnora of Geneva, Robert and his wife Luella of Lincoln; four daughters, Mrs. Ted (Merna) Richey and husband of Salem, Ore., Marjorie Langhorst of Hebron, Mrs. William (Phyllis) Kamler Jr., and husband of Shickley, Mrs. R. D. (Vivian) Franck and husband of Geneva; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, one nephew and one niece, a host of relatives, close friends and good neighbors. Graveside services were held at the Geneva public cemetery on Monday, August 4, 1980, at 10:30 a.m., wife Rev. Jay Funk officiating. The Nebraska Signal 14 August 1980 page 5.
