Read More	Obituary of Edith Steinhoff Edith Mildred Amos Steinhoff, daughter of Alfred and Carrie Amos was born in the Coburg community, near Sargent, Nebraska on November 8, 1900. She passed away January 4, 1981 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at the home of her daughter. Edith spent the early years of her life in the Coburg community and attended the Coburg school until 1914, when she moved to Sargent with her parents. She finished her schooling in Sargent. Edith was baptized in 1915 into the Christian Church. Later she joined the United Methodist Church and actively served her faith as a member of the Women's Society. A highlight to her years of Christian service was a trip to the Holy Land in 1973. Edith aided her community as an active member of War Mothers and the PEO Sisterhood. She was united in marriage to George Steinhoff November 23, 1921. One daughter and one son was born to them. Her husband passed away April 30, 1957. Edith is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Bishop, and husband Robert of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and a son Robert Steinhoff and wife Iris, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; one sister, Caroline Lenstrom; a brother Bert Amos of Sargent, Nebraska, six grandchildren; and one great grandchild, all of whom lover her dearly and will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters. Services were held January 9, 1981 at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. Pastor Wayne Hasselquast officiated and music was furnished by Louis Smith, soloist and Linda Seifried, organist. Pallbearers were Larry Bishop, Edward Rector, Reid Weill, Craig Steinhoff, Larry Estes and David Gideon, with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sargent, Nebraska. Contributor: Terry Wilmoth-Jepsen
