Description	:	The following is an obituary from the Primitive Baptist Association minutes "Edmond Denny was born and lived and died in Surry County, NC. He was the son of Azariah Denny. He was born on the 5th day of October, 1811. He also professed a hope in Christ and joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Ararat and was called to the office of Deacon which office he filled until his death. He also served the church in the capacity of clerk for many years. His death occurred on the 14th day of December, 1887, aged 76 years, 3 months and 9 days.... Read More	The following is an obituary from the Primitive Baptist Association minutes "Edmond Denny was born and lived and died in Surry County, NC. He was the son of Azariah Denny. He was born on the 5th day of October, 1811. He also professed a hope in Christ and joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Ararat and was called to the office of Deacon which office he filled until his death. He also served the church in the capacity of clerk for many years. His death occurred on the 14th day of December, 1887, aged 76 years, 3 months and 9 days. He was married to Miss Francis H. Farris, who bore unto him five children, two sons and three daughters. She was also a devoted member of the Baptist church and was called from by death on the 27th day of December, 1883. Thus the subjects of our notice who were the highly favored of God, after living up to a ripe old age, fell victims to death, leaving their families, their churches and their long line of acquaintance to mourn in bereavement, but their loss to us is only a matter of time while to them it is gain eternal. While we must suffer in bereavement only for a time, we still have their pious tracks to trace, which often calls our inquiring minds after them to their present mansion of rest. They were often appointed by their respective churches to represent them in the Association which appointment they were faithful to fill and then return to their homes and churches and report the order of their mission but now they are gone to the general Association above never to return but to remain in the perfect praise and presence of God forever."
