He was born April 16, 1909, in Enon, a son of Henry I. and Anna Myrtle Snodgrass Renken. He was married Dec. 23, 1933, in Clarksburg, to Celeste Ellen Dawson who died Feb. 7, 1984. He was a farmer and a former member of the National Farmers Organization. He served on the Moniteau County Extension Council and was a former board member of Russellville MFA and MFA Oil Company. Renken, 89, Russellville, died Sunday at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. He was born April 16, 1909, in Enon, a son of Henry I. and Anna Myrtle Snodgrass Renken. He was married Dec. 23, 1933, in Clarksburg, to Celeste Ellen Dawson who died Feb. 7, 1984. He was a farmer and a former member of the National Farmers Organization. He served on the Moniteau County Extension Council and was a former board member of Russellville MFA and MFA Oil Company. He was a member of Olean Christian Church, where he served as deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. Survivors include three sons, Donald E. Renken and Keith Renken, both of Russellville, and Gayle Renken, Centertown; four daughters, Frances Engelebrecht and Elaine Morris, both of Eugene, Deloyce Barry, California, and Janice Theroff, Columbia; two sisters, Dolan Renken, Woodlawn, Ill., and Gertrude Brady, St. Louis; 21 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Olean Christian Church. The Rev. Roger Tribble and the Rev. Jim Kruse will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.
