Description	:	FUNERAL OF EDNA GRIFFIN The funeral services for the late Edna Edith Griffin were held from the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs G.W. Griffin, at East Milwaukee Street, Monday at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Simon of the Presbyterian church, of which she was a member. The choir very impressively rendered three beautiful hymns, favorites of the deceased, "Lead Me Gently Home Father," "God Will Take Care of You," and "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go." The room was banked with floral contributions, showing the esteem in which she was held. The honorary pall bearers were Sadie Clark, Alice Grettenburg, Clara Wyatt, Florence Rusch, Mande Tyrell and Augusta Rahl. The active bearers were Frank Briggs, Fred Cole, Lynn Hagen, John Grettenburg, Henry Tomlinson and Frank White. There was a large attendance of friends and relatives to pay their last respects. Those from out of town were Miss Griffin's grandparents, Mr and Mrs T.P. Griffin, of Beach, ND; her grandmother, Mrs Jonas Brown, of Boone, Iowa; two uncles, B.E. and J.A. Brown, of Warwick, ND; and uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs Ed Griffin, of Eldridge, ND; and uncle, T.A. Griffin, of Fargo, ND; an aunt, Mrs D.J. Hogan, of Beach and three aunts, Mrs C.E. Huey, Mrs R.W. Brunning, Mrs J.D. Wingo, of Boone, Iowa and an uncle, Forest E Brown, of Boone, Iowa, who is to leave for the United States army soon. SKETCH OF LIFE Edna Edith Griffin was born in Boone County, Iowa, May 15, 1894, and died in Jamestown July 19, 1918, at the age of 24 years. Her early years were spent in Boone, Iowa. At the age of 12 years she removed with her parents to Stutsman County, North Dakota, residing on a farm near Gackle for a few years. From there they moved to Homer township, and to their present residence, 207 East Milwaukee Street two years ago. While residing in Gackle, Miss Edna finished her education and taught one term in the public schools, but on account of ill-health was compelled to discontinue teaching. Since coming to Jamestown, she has been engaged in dressmaking. While visiting last week in the vicinity of Devils Lake, where her father was employed, she complained of slight illness. She returned to her home Monday evening and was compelled to take to her bed. A physician was called who immediately pronounced it pneumonia. All that medical skill and kind hands could do was provided, but to no avail. After three days' illness she passed to her reward. At the age of 12 years she united with the Presbyterian church, being a devoted Christian worker during her short life. Miss Griffin was active in church and patriotic work, and was highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends.
