Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Miss Ewbank, the daughter of Mrs. W. L. Ewbank, 814 Merchant, and the late William L. Ewbank, was born at Ottumwa, Kan. She was graduated from Emporia High school in 1919 and from the Emporia Business college in 1921. Besides her mother she is survived by two brothers, Maj. William L. Ewbank, of Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio, and Carlton L. Ewbank, 727 Garfield, and by five sisters, Mrs. Frank E. Curtis, 1010 Lawrence; Mrs. R. Leigh Hennessy, 28 Merchant; Mrs. John W. Skinner, Roswell, N. Mex.; Mrs. Robert Pease, Albuquerque, N. Mex., and Miss Mary Ewbank, of the home. Miss Ewbank began work for the Kansas Electric Power company, November 15, 1921. She also did secretarial work for the late W. A. White. She was private secretary to every K.E.P. manager since the formation of the electric company in Emporia. "She knew more about the details of the utility business than any manager could hope to," L. D. Peterson, present K.E.P. manager, said today. "She had an amazing mind, capable of retaining all the little details about the business. She always knew where everything was filed. Her death is a great loss to us." Miss Ewbank had been sick since November , 1947. She returned to her job briefly last November and December. ****************************************** Emporia Gazette, Friday, March 11, 1949; p.2. c.3 Ewbank Funeral Sunday Funeral services for Miss Edna Ewbank, who died Thursday morning, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue funeral home. The Rev. LeRoy Hay, pastor of the First Christian church, will conduct the services, and burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. The casket will be open at the Roberts-Blue chapel Saturday afternoon and on Sunday until the services begin. It will not be open at the service. Miss Ewbank was a member of the First Christian church and of the Business and Professional Women's club, the Credit Women's Breakfast club and the Missionary Guild of the First Christian church.
