Her father was William Andrew McClelland Lovell and Clara Viola Vickroy. Edna was the youngest of 13 siblings. She was the midwife to many of her nieces and nephews. She married John Howard Brower at the age of 18. Their first born child Betty Lou died at the age of 1 year old of pneumonia. Their second child was a son named James McClelland Howard Brower "Macky" and hen her last child was her son Jacky Lee. Her husband John Howard Brower was injured working on the railroads and later died due to those injuries when their sons were very young. Macky was killed in a traffic accident on his way to California. After Macky died, Edna devoted her entire life to Christianity and charity missions. She was an honorary member of the Shoshonean tribe in Wyoming for her contributions to the children of the Wyoming and Nevada reservations in the form of clothing and toys. She handmade toys and loaded them onto a school bus that she purchased for her trips to the reservations to provide the children with plenty of toys. She spent most of her years in California living with her son Jacky and near the end of her days, she desired a trip home to Iowa where she would live out the rest of her life.
