Description	:	Mrs. Edna Mae Sterling Rites Mrs. Edna Mae Sterling, one of the best known and most highly respected matrons of the Mariners section, died in the Marine Hospital in Baltimore Thursday evening, July 3rd., at the age of 65 years. She had been a patient in the hospital for about six months. Mrs. Sterling was the daughter of the late John W. and A. Olevia Newman of this county, and the wife of Mr. Eugene E. Sterling. She was a woman of fine personality, very industrious, and much interested in neighborhood and county affairs. She had a keen mind, was an excellent conversationalist,... Read More	Mrs. Edna Mae Sterling Rites Mrs. Edna Mae Sterling, one of the best known and most highly respected matrons of the Mariners section, died in the Marine Hospital in Baltimore Thursday evening, July 3rd., at the age of 65 years. She had been a patient in the hospital for about six months. Mrs. Sterling was the daughter of the late John W. and A. Olevia Newman of this county, and the wife of Mr. Eugene E. Sterling. She was a woman of fine personality, very industrious, and much interested in neighborhood and county affairs. She had a keen mind, was an excellent conversationalist, and well informed on the topics of the day. Her home and family were her first consideration, much of her time was devoted to being neighborly and helpful, and she had many warm friends who were grieved at her death. Mrs. Sterling reposed at the Covington Funeral Home until Sunday afternoon, when funeral services were conducted there at 3.30 o'clock by Dr. J. Yancey Fincher, pastor of the Marion Baptist Church, and Rev. E. E. Garland, pastor of the Baptist Temple in Crisfield. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Bearers were William Sterling, Walter McCready, Edgar McCready, Milford Thornton, Jesse Evans and Earl Sterling. She is survived by her husband and one son, Mr. Newman Sterling, of this city.
