A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., in Greeley. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling at a later date. Mrs. French was born on Feb. 16, 1920 in Sterling to Gustavus and Pearl Mae (McCormick) Thieme. She was raised in Sterling and graduated from Logan County High School. Mrs. French was born on Feb. 16, 1920 in Sterling to Gustavus and Pearl Mae (McCormick) Thieme. She was raised in Sterling and graduated from Logan County High School. She received an undergraduate degree from the Colorado State Teachers College, now the University of Northern Colorado, in 1941. She married Ervin French on Nov. 23, 1941 in Denver. They raised their family in Sterling for 42 years, until 1990, when they moved to Sun City, Ariz. In 1998 they moved to Greeley. Mrs. French was a member of P.E.O. and the Sterling Country Club. She was also a superintendent of the Sunday school classes at the Presbyterian Church in Sterling. She enjoyed tennis, golf,bowling, exercising and espe cially walking. Mrs. French is survived by her husband Ervin French of Gree ley; two sons, John French of Loveland and Jim French of Fort Collins; one daughter, Sue Stencel and husband Jene of Clermont, Fla.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia VonTour. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of Stod dàrd Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street,
