Edward Anders Lysaght Griffin was born August 30, 1923, at Hot Springs to parents Phillip H.L. and Irene (Westover) Griffin. Read More	Edward Anders Lysaght Griffin, 72, Spearfish, passed away Sunday, August 18, 1996, at Lookout Memorial Hospital, Spearfish. Edward Anders Lysaght Griffin was born August 30, 1923, at Hot Springs to parents Phillip H.L. and Irene (Westover) Griffin. As a young boy, he attended school in Hot Springs, graduating from Hot Springs High School in 1941. He then attended South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and then South Dakota State University, where he received a degree in Pharmacy in 1946. He married Barbara B. Barker on October 24, 1947, at Rapid City. For thirty years he worked in private and in veterans administrations as a pharmacist, living in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, South Dakota, and Nebraska, including seven years at the V.A. Medical Center in Hot Springs. In 1983 they moved to Buffalo Gap, and he retired in 1986. They moved to Spearfish in 1989. Over the years, he belonged to various community and civic organizations. He was active in many sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jean, and an infant grandson, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Griffin, Spearfish; three sons, Michael Griffin and his wife Glennda, Grangeville, Idaho, Walter Griffin and his wife, Pat, Custer, and Bill Griffin, Friday Harbor, Washington; five grandchildren, Karla Griffin, Sarah Griffin, Jennie Griffin, Julie Griffin, and Sam Griffin; nephew, Rick Hatfield, Spearfish; and a childhood friend, Merlyn Munck, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Services will be held, Wednesday, at the Rochford Chapel, Rochford, with the Rev. Ron Hennies officiating. A memorial has been established to the Black Hlls Regional Diabetic Association.
