Foster, 74, who lived west on road 30 just beyond the city limits, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday at the Whitley County Hospital, where he had been admitted a few hours before. He had been in failing health for about 12 years, suffering a stroke of apoplexy at that time. Mr. Foster was born in Thorncreek township to H. L. and Arthalinda Jackson Foster on March 19, 1882. In 1909 he married Myrtle Ream and lived on the Squawbuck road west of Columbia City until 15 years ago when he retired from farming and moved just west of the city limits. Mr. Foster was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church and the Richland Township Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Pratt, Huntington, two granddaughters, Karen and Marilyn Pratt, a sister, Mrs. Norma Souder and a brother, Otto L. Foster of this city. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by a son, Argyle, who was accidentally killed in 1937 in an auto accident at a street intersection in this city and a brother, Leonard, who died three years ago. Friends may call at the Hollingsworth Memorial Chapel after 7:30 p.m. today. Services will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Verlin O. Vernon, pastor of the Trinity Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the South Park cemetery.
