Read More	Holdrege - Edward "Duane" Stump, 75, Oxford, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Christian Homes in Holdrege. He was born Oct. 17, 1930, three miles southwest of Atlanta, Neb, in Phelps County, at a farm known as the Frost Farm, the ninth of 10 children of Edward S and Jessie L (Finton) Stump. He received his primary education at a district school 10 miles north of Oxford, and then graduated from Oxford High School with the class of 1950. Following his education, he was inducted into the US Marine Corps on Feb 12, 1952, and served his country during the Korean War until his honorable discharge on Aug 11, 1954. He continued to serve in the Reserves until 1960. In June of 1956, he was united in marriage to Glenda Mae Schriner, and to this union, five children were born: Edward, Bradley, Everett, Malinda and Edith. The family made their home in Oxford. Duane subcontracted with Kinglsey Lumber, building homes throughout Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado. Survivors include his three sons, Edward Stump and wife, Shelly of Funk, Bradley Stump of Oxford and Everett Stump of Norfolk; two daughters, Malinda Poley of Oxford and Edith Stump of Bryan, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Park of Greeley, Colo, and special friend, Carol Osborn of Stratton, Neb, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: George, Chester and Harold Stump; and sisters: Pearl Osborn, Esther Walton, Delia Brand, Dorothy Kahle and Marie Stagemeyer. He will lie in state at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford from 1 to 8 pm Sunday, with the family greeting from 3 to 5 pm. Services will be in Evangelical Free Church in Oxford at 2 pm, Monday with Pastor Wes Holen and Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Union Cemetery in Gosper County. A memorial has been established in his memory. The Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
