Edward Dale Vogt was born December 5, 1927, in Okreek, South Dakota, the son of Claus and Daisy (Graves) Vogt. He graduated from the 8th grade and then worked on his parents farm. He married Alvena Dolores Thiessen on June 2, 1956. They farmed and raised cattle, hogs, corn, oats and alfalfa, until they retired in 2001. In 2008, they move to Tyndall, South Dakota to be close to family. In 2011, they moved into the Springfield Assisted Living. In 2014, they moved to the Butte Healthcare Center. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Naper and was baptized on March 27, 1968. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and collecting all kinds of different items. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family. Surviving are his wife, Alvena of the Butte Healthcare Center; one daughter, Beverly (Glenn) Zink of Naper; one son, Dale (Jean) Vogt of Tabor, SD; one daughter-in-law, Mary Vogt of Omaha; three grandchildren, Ashley, Cody and Breena Vogt; three sisters, Shirley (Paul) Neumiller of Bonesteel SD; Darlene (Marlo) Sieh of Creston, IA, and Sharon (Eugene) Robinson of Sioux Falls, SD; one brother, Don (Gloria) Vogt of Burke, SD; one sister-in-law, Joy Ann Vogt in Butte; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kent Vogt, two sisters, Lucille Sieh and Fern Barringer and one brother, Julius Vogt. Clausen Funeral Home, Burke
